Chiaretto di Bardolino Rosato, Gorgo, Organic 2022
Producer
Gorgo was established in 1973 in the Northen Italian village of Custoza in Veneto. Originally only 22 hectares, the estate now stretches over 60 hectares in the ‘Bianco di Custoza’ and ‘Bardolino’ production areas. The estate is owned and managed by Roberta Bricolo with a skilled viticultural team who have been in place for nearly 30 years. All the wines are hand crafted and of very high quality. The light, white soils of the region are full of pebbles and silt rich in calcium which gives the wines a distinctive mineral character.
Tasting Notes
A fresh, fun and fruity rose from the Veneto region of Italy. Made from the classic grapes of the region; Corvina, Rondinella and Molinara. Bright pink in colout, with delicious aromas of berries, grapefruit and wildflowers. The palate continues to show these summer fruits with elegant mineral notes and a lovely texture due to 3 months of ageing on fine lees. Red fruit flavours are ripe, with an abundance of cherries, strawberries and raspberries combined with a fresh, floral note and a crisp acidity.
Food
Here's a multifarious rosé. Try it with starters, first courses, pizzas, summer vegetarian dishes, seafood and shellfish salads, grilled fish and meat, young cheeses. Or it's really quite happy enough being drunk on its own...
